Sinharaja Rain Forest

Sinharaja is a last primary wet evergreen rain forest and one of few virgin forests remaining in the world. It is located in South-West part of Sri Lanka.

More than 60% of the trees of the forest are endemic and many of them are considered rare.








A baandura flower. This flower is attractive to insects because of the sweet fluid inside it, but insects cant go back because of the stickiness of the fluid and they become the prey of the flower.

Not only trees and flowers, many insects, birds, mammals in the forest are also endemic.
